This three-day course focuses on the Education Endowment Foundation’s ‘Metacognition and Self-Regulated Learning ‘Guidance Report and associated educational research. The course, which will be facilitated by Alex Quigley [Senior Associate at the EEF, educational consultant and author of ‘Closing the Vocabulary Gap’] explores how pupils best monitor, direct, and review their learning. Furthermore, it examines and highlights metacognitive strategies get learners to think about their own learning more explicitly, usually by teaching them to set goals, and monitor and evaluate their own academic progress. The course is aimed at senior leaders and teachers from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4. Attendance is expected for each of the three days.

The course takes place at the Bridge Centre. 0930-1530 on the following dates:
